Ang kanyang ama, si Mang Ronaldo (Joel Torre) ay isang tagapangasiwa ng isang malaking manggahan. Tuwing Sabado at Linggo ding magtinda si Kristina sa beach resort na malapit sa kanila. Ito ay utos ng maambisyong ama. Gusto niyang makasungkit ang anak ng mayamang lalaki para mahango sila sa kahirapan.
