1 Simple Trick to Get Listed in the Search Engines Free
Here is a trick that almost anyone with a computer and an internet connection can do to get listed in the major search engines free. This is not so much as a trick but more of a method, which has been proven to work without fail.
But first let me preface this article with why this method works.
There is one thing that all search engines crave, in fact it is something that if they didn't have then they probably wouldn't survive. Do you know what it is? That's right, it's fresh content. For without content no one will have a reason to search for information from a search engine, because there would be nothing to find, right?
So Google ,Yahoo, MSN and millions of other services send out little automated robots to trawl for fresh content. These robots are usually known as spiders. Spiders work by traveling the link paths in ones web page, so once they find a link in a page then they investigate that page to see if there are other links to follow. Along their travels they suck up the content on the page for the search engine to process according to their individual algorithms
So with this in mind, you can now use this information to have the spiders come and visit your website, by luring them in with a tasty treat, (i.e.) fresh content.
Serve It Up By The Mouth Full
One way that search engines find fresh content is through blogs. Google and Yahoo especially like sourcing information from Blogger.com. You can get a free blog from Blogger.com and start a spider frenzy. So, remember how I mentioned that the spiders come to visit your web page, finding links and then trawling them? Well this is where the magic happens.
By placing a link to your website in the content of your blog the search engines are then able to find your website, enabling them to send your websites information back to the search engine for processing. The more fresh content you are able to put on your blog the more times the spiders come to collect content. Which means the opportunity for the spiders to visit your website increases.
Dinner Time
Providing fresh content to your blog is easily, and the spiders will eventually come and feast on your content. However, there is a way to speed up the process and get the spiders coming immediately. And that is by sending them notification that you have just published more content. It's almost like say to them, it's dinner time, come and get it.
This process is called pinging.
Pingomatic.com is an online service that tells a number of ping services or spiders that you have just published some new material. Once it notifies these services, watch as they all come running for your fresh content.
Once they have visited your blog and picked up your websites URL, then you can expect anywhere from 2 days to two weeks to see your website in Google. This entire process has been coined Blog and Ping. And it is just as effective today as it has ever been.
